Consultant Spotlight: Tony Cusimano, UX Program Manager

Updated: Sep 7, 2023

Meet Tony, a veteran of Brilliant Muse for over 2 years with experience managing up strategic work and tracking workload capacity and allocations holistically. He loves spreadsheets, and our clients love him.

“The work Tony has done in these quarterly check-ins has been critical in influencing our next steps and strategies with [cross-functional teams].” - Senior UX Researcher at Google

What do you like most about working with Brilliant Muse?

The support we receive from Michelle and the team is above and beyond. Compared to another agency I’ve worked with where they only gave me a welcome email and a branded tote bag, Brilliant Muse helps us feel set up for success with regular check ins, personalized training, and resources crowdsourced from the breadth of our amazing team. We also do active, fun things as a team like volunteer meetups and remote fitness challenges.

What do you like to do outside of work? What are some hobbies, activities you are able to do because of remote work / flexible schedule?

We live about 100 feet away from the largest park in our city, so being empowered to manage my own schedule as a remote consultant enables me to take a walk and enjoy nature whenever I need some fresh air. My partner and I have also started playing tennis and pickleball since we moved!

How have you grown as a person because of making this shift in your career?

Despite being a UX Program Manager for almost 7 years, I now have the support of Brilliant Muse in officially becoming PMP certified! On a personal note, my partner and I were able to move and buy our first home together after I became a remote consultant, which feels like an adulthood level-up.
